The PS 130 Parent Teacher Association will host a book sale on Sunday Oct. 20, Karma Brooklyn reported Friday. The fifth annual book sale will be held at the P 130 Lower School at 70 Ocean Parkway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gently used books can be dropped off on Saturday Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the back door, accessed via the school's East 5th Street entrance, the publication reports.

"This event is a wonderful way for the community to support PS 130, and for PS 130 to support the community," said Lisa Jackson Zelznick, PS 130 PTA vice president of fundraising, according to Karma Brooklyn. "By allowing neighbors to donate books that we sell at a very reasonable price, we are promoting reading, literacy, and sustainability in the community while also raising funds to support important PTA initiatives, like professional development, direct support to classroom teachers, and improving the school library.”
