Patch Survey: What Do You Think About Vaccine Rollout In NC?
More than 1.3 million doses of coronavirus vaccine have been administered in NC. Have you gotten a shot? If so, tell us about it.
NORTH CAROLINA — Vaccination efforts are full-steam ahead throughout North Carolina, with more than 1 million shots administered, according to state public health data.
As of Feb. 8, North Carolina had administered 103 percent of its federal supply of first doses and about 59 percent of the second doses on hand, according to North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
While DHHS will have a free vaccine for everyone, supplies continue to be very limited throughout the state. In a bid to increase vaccine awareness, North Carolina public health officials launched the "Find My Vaccine Group" website that clarifies when residents will become eligible to receive the COVID vaccine.

Currently, the state is vaccinating those 65 and older, healthcare workers with in-person patient contact and long-term care facility staff and residents.

"I encourage everyone to be patient," DHHS Secretary Mandy Cohen said. "The most important thing to remember about our vaccines right now is we do not have enough supply to reach everyone right now."
