Police Officer Shoots Suspect Outside Hendersonville Walmart

HENDERSONVILLE, NC — A police officer shot a suspect in the parking lot of a Walmart store in in Hendersonville on Thursday night. Police were called to the store just after 10 p.m. Thursday, media outlets reported.

An officer shot one suspect and that person was taken to a hospital, Police Chief Herbert Blake told WLOS-TV. The suspect's condition wasn't immediately released. The officer wasn't hurt, Blake said.

Their names and races weren't released. Blake was expected to meet with reporters later Friday.

The State Bureau of Investigation is helping with the case.
