$12M Mansion Is North Carolina’s Most Expensive Home For Sale

BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC — North Carolina’s most expensive piece of real estate for sale is a five-bedroom mansion in in Bald Head Island. It costs a chunk of change, but pennies compared to the nine-figure properties in some of America’s hottest real estate markets.

Sitting 40 feet above sea level overlooking the Cape of Fear, the home is on sale for nearly $12 million and ranks as the 38th most expensive home for sale in the country, according to PropertyShark. The real estate website analyzed active listings across the U.S. to identify the most expensive home for sale in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

According to PropertyShark, the homes range between $3.5 million to $500 million. The $500 million home is a Los Angeles property called “The One.” The home has “20 bedrooms, four swimming pools, an in-home theater, four-lane bowling alley, a private nightclub complete with VIP room, 30-car garage, actual moats and even jellyfish aquariums as ceilings,” PropertyShark writes.
