18 Health Violations Documented At Charlotte Restaurant
A recent inspection found broken floor tiles that collected stagnant water and crates of milk sitting in standing water at one area eatery.
CHARLOTTE, NC β Recent kitchen inspections at Charlotte-area restaurants found a variety of violations, including one restaurant with 18 violations ranging from broken floor tiles collecting stagnant water to crates of milk sitting in standing water, according to Mecklenburg County public health officials.

County health officials recently inspected 180 restaurants in the Charlotte-metro area. Some of the lowest scores were given to the following restaurants:

As Las Meras Tortas, a Jan. 7 inspection found 14 violations, including raw steaks stored above ready to eat food and more than 10 containers of food items such as cooked chicken, beef, pork not kept at proper cold temperatures and were voluntarily discarded and food with no date marks.
A Jan. 8 inspection at B Good Tryon documented 15 violations, including unwashed produced stored above ready-to-eat food; an employee was seen cracking a raw egg then make a smoothie without changing their gloves; and food items without proper time and date markings or held at the proper cold temperatures.

At Holler & Dash, an inspection conducted Jan. 13 found 18 health violations that included floor tiles that were broken and collecting stagnant water; crates of milk stored on the floor of a walk-in cooler where there was standing water; improper hand washing and employee beverages sitting on food prep surfaces.
