27 NC Basketball Players Nominated As McDonald's All Americans
Seven players from Charlotte metro area high schools made the list as McDonald's All American nominees.
NORTH CAROLINA β Ten girls and 17 boys from North Carolina high-school basketball teams were among more than 700 players nationwide nominated last week for the 2021 McDonald's All-American Game.
Seven Charlotte metro players β three girls and four boys βmade the list. Several schools had multiple players on the list, including the Cannon School in Concord, Fayetteville Christian School in Fayetteville, the Burlington School in Burlington, Millbrook High School in Raleigh, and South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte.
The final 48-player roster will be named at the end of February. The game itself won't take place in 2021 because of COVID-19 restrictions, but the players will be honored virtually.

This year's nominees are spread coast-to-coast, representing 44 states and the District of Columbia. High school players from Texas received the most nominations (87), followed by Florida (58) and California (57).
Alumni of the McDonald's All-American Game include Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Zion Williamson, Maya Moore, Candace Parker, A'ja Wilson and many more.
