Arrest Made Following Shooting Outside Concord Mills Mall

A Charlotte man was charged after police said he shot and injured a victim outside the AMC movie theater at Concord Mills Mall.

CONCORD, NC β€” A Charlotte man was arrested and charged following a shooting outside Concord Mills Mall Sunday that left one person wounded.

Renzo Gabriel Carnevalini Medina of Birch Knoll Court in Charlotte was apprehended following the incident. He was later charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, Concord Police Department said.

"The suspect at the victim got into an altercation in the mall parking lot, which resulted in gunshots being fired," CPD said.

The multiple shots were fired around 4 p.m. in the parking lot outside the AMC Theatres, WSOC reported.

The sidewalk outside the mall was closed off with crime scene tape late Sunday afternoon, a photo from WBTV shows.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is recovering, police said.
