Arrest Made In Slaying Of 26-Year-Old Man In Charlotte: Police
Charlotte police said Ron Andrew Malik Neal, 23, was charged in the fatal shooting of Rashawn Darrius Pitt.
CHARLOTTE, NC β Charlotte police arrested and charged a man they say is responsible for the fatal shooting death of a 26-year-old man in north Charlotte Monday.
Ron Andrew Malik Neal, 23, was arrested in Dallas, North Carolina and charged with first-degree murder of Rashawn Darrius Pitt, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Wednesday.
Officers found Pitt, 26, with a gunshot wound after receiving an emergency call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon near the 300 block of Charger Court around 5 p.m. on May 24.

Pitt was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, CMPD said.
According to CMPD, Neal was identified as a suspect in the case, and was apprehended by detectives with CMPD's Violent Crime Apprehension Team and the Dallas Police Department. He was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, where he was charged, CMPD said.
