Bocado Bar + Diner Set To Open In Charlotte's South End Thursday
The new South End eatery's menu will feature the iconic Bocado double burger stack, along with South American fare.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Grabbing a burger in Charlotte's South End is about to get swanky. Bocado Bar + Diner is set to open a Charlotte location at Atherton, located at 2000 South Boulevard on Thursday, June 25.
Says Bocado:
"Described as a new Southern American bar + diner, BOCADO Bar + Diner honors the same seasonally driven and locally sourced food menu as BOCADO’s original location in Atlanta, with an added diner culinary approach and aesthetic. The restaurant opens tomorrow for nightly dinner and weekend brunch, with weekday lunch to follow soon."
The new eatery will serve South American fare on an all-day menu, as well as additional dishes for brunch, late-night and happy hour. Some of the menu items are fried kibbeh with yolky eggs and a field green salad, avocado toast with a poached egg and pickled red onion, and french toast muffin with caviar cream and maple syrup.

Also on the menu will be the Double Stack Burger, which Forbes declared was the best burger in Atlanta. "The burger is light on the toppings, with American cheese and house-made pickles serving as the stars of the show, but the end result is mouth-watering joy. The burger stack comes with an order of fries, but you absolutely aren't living if you don't upgrade to garlic herb fries," Forbes said.
“We're thrilled to finally be opening up at Atherton with our take on a neighborhood commonplace, where old friends and new visitors can make memories over good food and drink," owner Brian Lewis said in a statement. “We are so appreciative of the support we’ve received so far, and we can’t wait to serve Charlotte our brand of Southern hospitality.”

Bocado will be open everyday from 3:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., and late night Monday through Saturday until midnight.
