Body Of Man Fatally Shot In Gastonia Found In Charlotte: CMPD
According to CMPD, the victim was fatally shot in Gastonia. Police discovered his body midday Thursday in a west Charlotte neighborhood.
CHARLOTTE, NC β The body of a man found shot to death in west Charlotte was moved to the location after the victim was killed in Gastonia, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Friday.
The victim was found by CMPD officers shortly after noon Thursday when they responded to an emergency call for an assault with a deadly weapon in the 9900 block of Barrands Lane in Charlotte.
"When they arrived, officers located a deceased male victim with apparent signs of traumatic injury," CMPD said in a statement at the time.

The victim, who was later identified as Curtis Hooper, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Friday morning, CMPD said the scene of Hooper's death did not occur in Charlotte, but instead about 20 miles west, in Gaston County.

"As a result of the continued investigation, detectives have also determined that this murder occurred in the 400 block of S. Weldon Street in Gastonia, NC.
Tahj Matthias JiβReh Wall, 23, was identified as a suspect in the case, and that he was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, robbery with a dangerous weapon and concealing a death.
