Charlotte Airport Worker Dead After Ramp Accident: Reports
A baggage handler died after an overnight accident at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, according to reports.
CHARLOTTE, NC β A Charlotte Douglas International Airport worker has died following an overnight accident while driving a luggage vehicle, according to reports.
The worker was driving the vehicle up a ramp when it flipped over, trapping him underneath, WBTV reported. The worker was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
βAmerican Airlines is deeply saddened by the death of one of our team members from Piedmont Airlines late last night,β the airline said in a statement. βRight now our priority is caring for his family, and for our team in Charlotte. We are extremely grateful to the coworkers and emergency personnel who provided assistance and medical aid throughout this event.β
