CMPD Animal Care And Control​ Changing Its Name

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD Animal Care and Control is changing its name, the organization announced on Monday.

The organization said the name change is intended to better represent the organization that exists today. On Wednesday, the organization announced it's now called "Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Services."

The animal services department said it has begun changing its name on vehicles and signage around town, as well as on social media channels. It has also rolled out a new hashtag: #CMASadopt

"Don't be confused: Animal Care & Control is NOW Animal Services!" the organization wrote on Facebook.
