CMS Announces New Personnel Appointments At Recent Meeting

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Superintendent Earnest Winston announced new personnel appointments at tonight's Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education meeting.

Andrew Bell was named principal at Beverly Woods Elementary. He has been assistant principal at Randolph IB Middle since 2015. Bell was dean of students at Alexander Graham Middle in 2014 and assistant principal at Holbrook Middle, Gaston County Schools, from 2012-2014. He also was a teacher at Piedmont IB Middle from 2006-2012. Bell earned a bachelor's degree in middle grades math and science from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, and a master's degree in executive leadership from Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs.

Erik Olejarczyk was named principal at the Olympic relief high school. He has been principal at Olympic High since 2018. He was principal at Math, Engineering, Technology & Science at Olympic and at Entrepreneurial Development & Executive Leadership at Olympic from 2017-2018. He also was principal at Technology, Entrepreneurship & Advanced Manufacturing at Olympic from 2015-2018. Olejarczyk was assistant principal at Rocky River High from 2014-2015; interim principal at Math, Engineering, Technology & Science at Olympic in 2014; and assistant principal at the Olympic Community of Schools from 2011-2014. He was academic facilitator at Ranson Middle in 2011, resident principal at West Mecklenburg High from 2010-2011 and a teacher at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology from 2004-2010.

Olejarczyk earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. He also earned a master's degree in curriculum and supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Dr. Kondra Rattley was named chief of equity and school performance. She has been associate superintendent of high school equity since 2019. Rattley was a learning community superintendent (East, Southeast, Beacon) from 2015-2019 and a consultant with the University of Virginia, Darden/Curry Partnership for Leaders in Education, from 2015-2019. She also was a principal at Garinger High from 2008-2013. Rattley earned a bachelor's degree in biology-secondary education and a master's degree in school counseling from Appalachian State University, Boone. She also earned a master's degree in school administration and a Doctor of Education, educational leadership, from Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs.
