CMS Hosting Vaccination Events At Metro Schools This Weekend

CHARLOTTE, NC — In a bid to increase vaccination rates in the community and its student body, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is hosting seven vaccination events this weekend throughout the county.

The news comes more than a week after vaccine eligibility was officially expanded to include teens. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for 12- to 15-year-olds on May 12.

On Saturday, May 22, free vaccines will be offered at seven CMS school locations for anyone ages 12 and older, the school district said.

"This includes students, staff, parents and community members," CMS said.
