CMS Launches Calendar Survey For 2022-2023 School Year

Have strong thoughts about the school calendar? Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is surveying the community for the 2022-2023 school year.

CHARLOTTE, NC β€” In a bid to increase community input into scheduling, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has launched a public survey regarding preference for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.

Options up for vote include the duration of winter holidays, teacher workday scheduling and whether to take Spring Break the week before or after Easter Sunday.

Parents of CMS students hoping to weigh in on when the school year begins or ends are out of luck, however. The two calendar options have classes beginning Monday, Aug. 29, 2022 and ending Friday, June 9, 2023.

"The community is invited to vote for the preferred calendar for the 2022-2023 school year," CMS said in a statement. The two options were developed by the CMS Calendar Committee and may be found here.

"Once the results are in, Superintendent Earnest Winston will review the results. He will present one calendar to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education and the Board will vote on a final calendar in July," CMS said.
