According to CMPD, a preliminary crash scene investigation indicated the Cadillac was traveling at a high rate of speed when Vega lost control. The SUV ran off the right side of the road, struck two power poles and flipped.

"Evidence indicates that neither Vega nor Ricardo were wearing their seatbelts. Inside the vehicle, officers also observed several containers of alcoholic beverages," CMPD said.
