Flights Grounded By Glitch To Resume In Charlotte At Noon
American Air will begin to rebook thousands of travelers stranded at Charlotte's airport overnight Friday at noon, airport officials say.

CHARLOTTE, NC β Thousands of air travelers found themselves grounded at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Thursday evening after a βtechnical issueβ canceled as many as 120 American Airlines flights in the Queen City.
The flight cancellations stretched beyond Charlotte, and affected 275 flights overall in the U.S. June 14, WSOCTV reported.
The canceled flights will resume June 15 at noon and will be operated by American Airlineβs regional carrier PSA Airlines, according to aviation officials.

βPSA Airlines, an American Airlines regional carrier, experienced a technical issue that caused them to cancel their flights for the remainder of the evening,β American tweeted June 14.
The ripple effects of the flight cancellations were still being felt Friday morning by passengers stranded at the airport, some of whom reported waiting eight hours or more for help from the overwhelmed airline. A group of students from Ohio, for example, were forced to sleep on the terminal floor overnight, the Charlotte Observer reported.

Update from @AmericanAir: PSA Airlines, an American Airlines regional carrier, experienced a technical issue on June 14. Our team, in coordination with PSA, is working hard to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. PSA plans to resume their operations at 12 p.m. ET on June 15.
