GASTONIA, NC β The Gaston County police have charged a Charlotte woman with the murder of a 28-year-old man whose body was found last week by the side of a road in Gastonia. The police announced Thursday that they're searching for Doris Maribel Alvarado-Peraza, 27, whose last known address was 1400 Kentwood Lane.
Alvarado-Peraza is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of Miguel Angel Valle Romero, who also lived in Charlotte. The two were acquainted, the police said, but they declined to release further details on the case.
On Dec. 22, a resident of the Mallard Crossing neighborhood, off Crowders Creek Road in Gastonia, found Romero's body and called the Gaston County police, according to a report. Officers responded to the scene, at the end of Sawbill Lane in an undeveloped part of the subdivision.
