Homicide Probe Underway After Fatal Shooting In North Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — A homicide investigation is underway in north Charlotte after a fatal shooting Tuesday night, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. near an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Mayfield Terrace Drive.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving an emergency call, and found an adult male victim who had been shot. He was transported by Medic to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Main, and was later pronounced dead.

CMPD said the investigation remains ongoing and that anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
