Lidl To Open New Charlotte Store In University City: Details
The new Lidl location on West Mallard Creek Church Road is the ninth in Charlotte for the grocery chain. Here's when it will open.

CHARLOTTE, NC β German budget supermarket chain Lidl is opening a new store location in north Charlotte next week.
The new Lidl location at 615 West Mallard Creek Church Road is set to open its doors to customers Wednesday, June 16, the company announced.
The new store location near University City is the ninth in the Charlotte metro for the grocery chain.

The store will be open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. every day of the week, the company said.
As part of the grand opening event, the store will offer "get-them-while-you-can" specials, as well as gift cards for the first 100 customers.

The budget German supermarket chain is considered a direct competitor with Aldi and is credited with launching local grocery price wars wherever it opens its doors, according to Food & Wine, which recently ranked the chain as the No. 6 top grocer in the U.S.
