Major Delays After Tractor Trailer Crash Shuts Down I-85 At I-77

CHARLOTTE, NC — An early morning tractor-trailer crash blocked all southbound lanes of Interstate 85 at Interstate 77, and is expected to cause major delays for most of Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred around 5 a.m. near Interstate 77 and Statesville Avenue, WSOC said.

Crash clean up will take most of the morning, according to the station. “All lanes could remain closed until noon as crews work to remove the tractor-trailer,” it said.
