CHARLOTTE, NC β€” Launching her world-wide tour, Melanie Martinez will perform in Charlotte shortly after kicking off her β€œK-12” tour this fall. Tickets are on sale now to see this creative young singer perform at The Fillmore on Oct. 18.

Expected to be an eclectic theatrical performance, the tour follows the release of her new album, β€œK-12,” which is set to be released on Sept. 6. The tour will hit North American cities, kicking off in Washington, DC on Oct. 13 and wrapping up in Hamburg, Germany on Dec. 17.

Partnering with PLUS1, $1 from every ticket will go to benefit the Trevor Project in aid of suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ youth.

Martinez got her start appearing on "The Voice" in 2012, after which she released both her debut EP and single of the same name, β€œDollhouse.” The success of this was followed in 2015 with the release of β€œCry Baby,” her debut studio album which hit Billboard’s #1 on the Current Alternative Album charts. Her single β€œPity Party” off the album was featured in a companion video that has received over 146 million views.

Known for her unique style, The Guardian defines Martinez as β€œoff-kilter, sweary electropop.” In an interview with Altpress, Martinez is excited about touring, β€œIt’s been a bit since I’ve been on tour and I’m incredibly excited to bring the movie to life on stage. I’m putting all of my energy into making it not only visually stunning and pleasing to the senses but also a fun learning experience and a safe place to express yourself and be accepted for exactly who you are.”

Fans can expect her performance to be creative and unique, with Martinez playing favorites from β€œCry Baby,” such as β€œCarousel” and β€œDollhouse.” In support of her new album, as Martinez takes to the stage she’ll no doubt perform new material, including the much anticipated β€œLunchbox Friends.”
