Police Identify Woman Shot To Death In North Charlotte

A homicide investigation is underway into the fatal shooting that left a 21-year-old woman dead, Charlotte police said.

CHARLOTTE, NC β€” Police say a homicide investigation is underway after a 21-year-old woman was shot to death in a north Charlotte neighborhood early Monday morning.

Officers responded to an emergency call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon shortly after midnight May 31 in the 5200 block of Twin Brook Drive. There, they found a female gunshot victim.

The victim, later identified as 21-year-old Sherlyn Drew, was pronounced dead at the scene, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.

The investigation into Drew's death remains active and ongoing, CMPD said.

Police said anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
