Demarcus has had many people in his life who have molded him into the young man he is today. The three people who have made the biggest impact are his father, aunt and grandmother. He credits them for being his support system, especially during difficult times. "They are constantly uplifting and pushing me. They are my supportive backbone. They helped me see all the good surrounding me."
The highlight of his school year was making friends and being on the cross-country and track teams. A positive environment helped him maintain focus. "This year has been stressful for a lot of different reasons, and I'm happy I have the stride built in me to push through all the pain and confusion I've experienced."
