Southwest Offering $50 Flights From Charlotte Douglas Airport

CHARLOTTE, NC — Southwest Airlines is offering one-way flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport for as low as $50 as part of its end-of-spring sale and 50th birthday celebration.

With every adult in the United States now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, it might be time to think about getting away for a while after spending a year cooped up indoors because of the pandemic. The cheap fares are available from now until 11:59 p.m. Central Time on May 3, according to the airline.

The sale applies to flights in the continental U.S., Puerto Rico and international travel from May 3 through May 26 and Sept. 7 through Nov. 5. The sale also applies to flights to and from Hawaii from May 3 through May 26 and Aug. 9 through Nov. 5.

Flights must be purchased at least 21 days in advance, the airlines said.

The low fares can be bought for flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to:

• Atlanta — $75
• Myrtle Beach — $75
• Nashville — $128
• Boston Logan — $102
• Charleston — $75
• Albuquerque, New Mexico — $128
• Burbank — $151
• Chicago (Midway) — $93

Blackout dates for domestic travel in the continental U.S. are Oct. 11 and Nov. 1, and blackout dates for travel from Hawaii are from Aug. 9 to Aug. 15. The sale does not apply to travel on Fridays and Sundays within the continental U.S.
