These Charlotte Zip Codes Are Among NC’s Most Exclusive

RENTCafé analyzed the most expensive zip codes in the U.S. These Charlotte area zip codes are among the most expensive in the state.

CHARLOTTE, NC — RENTCafé recently analyzed the most expensive zip codes in the U.S. The company looked at 4,400 zip codes in over 130 markets and created a national ranking, as well as regional and state rankings.

Dilworth is among the most expensive places to live in the Queen City, but the most exclusive zip code in North Carolina goes to Uptown Charlotte’s 28202, with the average rent for an apartment there at $1,797. Dilworth’s 28203 has the highest annual rent increase in the Charlotte metro at 4.8 percent.

Other Charlotte areas also making the top-10 list of the most expensive zip codes for renters in North Carolina this year are the 28204 zip code near Elizabeth, with an average rent of $1,525 a month; Myers Park and southeast Charlotte in 28211 with an average rent of $1,437; and the Ballantyne/Piper Glen area in 28277 with an average rent is $1,383.

The most-coveted locations for high-paying jobs and endless opportunities, New York City and California grab the most spots in the top 50 as priciest places to live in the U.S. Out of the 50 most expensive zip codes, 28 are in New York City, with 26 in Manhattan and one each in Queens and Brooklyn. The ranking is completed by 18 California zip codes and four zip codes from Boston.
