Traffic Accident, Downed Power Lines Shuts Down Eastway: CMPD
A morning traffic accident downed power lines and snarled traffic along an east Charlotte artery Monday morning.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A section of Eastway Drive in east Charlotte shut down early Monday morning after a traffic accident led to downed power lines, according to police
“Eastway Drive between Weldon Avenue and Commercial Avenue will be closed due to power lines in the roadway resulting from a motor vehicle collision at that location,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said. “The public is asked to use an alternative route this morning.”
Three people were transported to an area hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, WBTV reported.
