Victim In Fatal Southeast Charlotte Shooting Identified By Police
CMPD officers responded to the location of the shooting shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, and said the 42-year-old man died at the scene.
CHARLOTTE, NC β A homicide investigation is underway in southeast Charlotte after a 42-year-old man was fatally shot before dawn early Sunday morning, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the scene in the 3500 block of Ellington Street shortly before 1 a.m. Jun 6 after CMPD received an emergency call for service reporting an assault with a deadly weapon.
"When they arrived, officers located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound," CMPD said.

The victim, who was later identified as Darius Fredricko Drummer, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene.
CMPD said an investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing, and said anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
