Wilmington Mass Shooting Leaves 3 Dead, Multiple Others Injured
The house party shooting was described by the district attorney as "one of the worst crimes" he had seen in the Port City.
WILMINGTON, NC β Three people are dead and multiple others injured following an overnight shooting at a house party in Wilmington, according to police.
The shooting happened shortly after midnight Friday, Wilmington police said in a series of tweets. Police were called to 718 Kidder St. where a gunfight had erupted shortly before officers' arrival.
New Hanover and Pender County District Attorney Ben David described it as "one of the worst crimes we have ever had in the Port City," WECT reported.

βThe communityβs unimaginable grief must be met with an equal commitment to get justice for all of the victims in this case," David continued.
The victims have not been identified pending next-of-kin notification. Those injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made. At least one person suspected of firing shots is believed to have fled, Wilmington police told CNN.
