7 Cornelius Businesses Targeted: Crimes Reported Around Town

Five people were arrested this past week in Cornelius. Here's a rundown of crime around town.

CORNELIUS, NC — Five people were arrested in Cornelius this past week, including a man who was charged with five offenses, including resisting a public officer, according to Cornelius Police Department.

Seven Cornelius businesses — including two banks, a car dealership and a convenience store — reported crimes to police this week.

CPD also issued nearly three dozen citations, many of which were for charges including speeding, failure to carry a valid driver's license, and expired tags and registration, according to the police blotter.

Arrests made by Cornelius Police Department between April 14 - April 20, 2021:

  • Zachary Reed Shaffer, 26, was arrested April 17 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with misdemeanor intoxicated and disruptive
  • Kristina Lynn Suggs, 25, was arrested April 18 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with driving while impaired
  • James Christopher Glinski, 36, was arrested April 19 on at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center on Hawthorne Lane, charged two counts of malicious conduct by prisoner, misdemeanor resisting a public officer, and two counts of assaulting a government official.
  • Brittany Donnell Sherill, 33, was arrested April 20 on Zion Avenue, charged with felony attempt first degree burglary
  • Timothy Markham Robinson, 60, was arrested April 20 on Vineyard Point Lane, charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor communicating threats
