9 Charged With Driving While Impaired In Cornelius: CPD
At least 11 of the 14 arrests made in Cornelius this past week involved DWI or intoxicated and disruptive charges, CPD said.
CORNELIUS, NC — Police in Cornelius arrested nine motorists for driving while intoxicated , while also issuing three charges for intoxicated and disruptive behavior, according to Cornelius Police Department.
One 23-year-old man was arrested twice in the span of three days and faces two separate charges of intoxicated and disruptive, and one charge of larceny, according to the police blotter.
Police also received six crime reports, including a report of a stolen vehicle from Hertz Rental on Statesville Road and two incidents of larceny from 7-Eleven, located on West Catawba Avenue.

Arrests made by Cornelius Police Department between March 10 - March 16, 2021:
- Rex Locke, 40, was arrested March 10 on Tryon Street, charged with intoxicated and disruptive and sexual assault
- Donald Lee Clamon, 27, was arrested March 10 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with driving while impaired
- Quinton Payne Whitesides, 23, was arrested March 11 on NC 73 Hwy, charged with assault on a female
- David Lorenzo Sherrill, 32, was arrested March 12 on Old Statesville Road, charged with possession of a stolen firearm
- Noah James McClaskey, 23, was arrested March 12 on Jetton Road, charged with intoxicated and disruptive
- Matthew Harmon Davis, 43, was arrested March 13 on Catawba Avenue at Holiday Lane, charged with driving while impaired
- Robert Anthony Small, 37, was arrested March 13 on Burton Lane, charged with driving while impaired
- Douglas Winfield Abbott, 57, was arrested March 13 on Mulberry Street, charged with driving while impaired.
- Bernadette Christine Dolan, 55, was arrested March 13 on Statesville Road, charged with driving while impaired.
- Charles Arthur Hughes, 62, was arrested March 13 on Statesville Road, charged with driving while impaired
- Louis Franklin McDonald, 57, was arrested March 14 on Madison Village Drive, charged with driving while impaired
- Lisa Annette Derosa, 50, was arrested March 15 on Nautical Drive, charged with driving while impaired
- Noah James McClaskey, 23, was arrested March 15 on Jetton Road at West Catawba Avenue, charged with intoxicated and disruptive, larceny
- Andrew Stuart Basinger, 45, was arrested March 16 on West Catawba Avenue, charged with DWLR not impaired revocation, larceny
