All is Calm, All is Bright: A Christmas Carol YouTube Series

From December 1 to December 24

As a worldwide community, we have faced significant and severe challenges in 2020 which have necessitated changes in the ways in which we interact with other people. These changes have provided unique opportunities for us to touch lives in meaningful ways. This year, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Greater Lake Norman and Gastonia areas will again join with others in supporting Samaritans Purse’s “Operation Christmas Child” (https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/order-materials/?utm_source=Ggl&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=m_YGOC-B20V&utm_content=MaterialsAd&gclid=CjwKCAjwlID8BRAFEiwAnUoK1QOai-9GouIo2jiEhvWmTyozJDcKIyZuZ86QvbkeDf-JruE5o5GRHxoCL2oQAvD_BwE).

In addition, The Church is partnering with local leaders, churches, and families in bringing the spirit of Christ into homes everywhere. Beginning December 1, we will launch a YouTube series entitled “All is Calm, All is Bright: A Christmas Carol.” Each day following, through December 24, we will air a new Christmas carol presentation and share an uplifting message. We are running this initiative alongside the “Light the World” campaign of service which The Church has promoted since 2015 (www.lighttheworld.org).

Sue White, Communication Director for The Church in this area, said, “Since music reaches across languages, through differences, and into the hearts of people everywhere, we believe this initiative is a meaningful way to serve. We hope this gift will carry the Savior’s message of peace, hope, and love to people everywhere. “We’d like to share this gift with all!
