Assault, Resisting An Officer: Crime This Week In Cornelius

CORNELIUS, NC — Police in Cornelius made four arrests this week, for charges that included assault, resisting a public officer, intoxicated and disruptive behavior and driving with a revoked license, according to Cornelius Police Department.

CPD also issued more than two dozen citations, many of which were for charges including speeding, expired inspection and no operators license, according to the police blotter.

Cornelius Police Department made the following arrests between April 28 - May 4, 2021:

• Christopher Marcus Barringer, 31, was arrested April 28 on Meridian Street at Carter Circle, charged with assault with a deadly weapon (misdemeanor)
• Rodney Thompson, 51, was arrested April 28 on Washam Potts Road, charged with assault on a female (misdemeanor)
• Tiffany Lucinda Chandler, 29, was arrested April 29 on Bailey Road at Statesville Road, charged with intoxicated and disruptive, resisting a public officer and two counts of assault on a government official/employee
• Brent William McConnell, 45, was arrested May 3 on Torrence Chapel Road, charged with driving while license revoked impaired Rev and operating a vehicle with no insurance

• May 4 — Fraud, Makayla Lane
