CMS Class Of 2019 Wins $147.7 Million In Scholarships

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Class of 2019 won $147.7 million in scholarship money, with a total of 3,424 scholarships offered.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Class of 2019 won $147.7 million in scholarship money, with a total of 3,424 scholarships offered. South Mecklenburg High had the highest dollar amount with $17.3 million and the largest number of scholarships with 423.

Six high schools had totals of $10 million or more. William Amos Hough High was second in total dollars, with $15.3 million. Mallard Creek High was third with $11.6 million, followed by Ardrey Kell High with $11.3 million. Vance High School had $10.6 million in scholarships and Providence High had $10.3 million.

"The Class of 2019 has been offered an amazing amount of scholarship money,” said Dr. Clayton M. Wilcox, superintendent. “We are extremely proud of our graduating seniors, who will represent CMS well at their chosen colleges and universities."
