Cold, Wet, Windy Weather Headed To Lake Norman: Forecast

CORNELIUS, NC — The work week has kicked off with plenty of sunshine and highs in the 60s, however temperatures are expected to plunge by more than 20 degrees by Tuesday as cold, wet weather moves into the Charlotte metro region, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain is expected to begin by daybreak Tuesday, with temperatures expected to hover around 40 degrees by midday, NWS said. It will be a windy day, with gusts up to 25 mph expected during the day.

The sun will come back out by Wednesday, but the frigid temperatures will stay in place until the end of the week, when highs return to the 50s, NWS said.

Rain likely, mainly after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 49. Southwest wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tuesday (Nov. 12)
Showers, mainly before noon, then a chance of rain after 1pm. Patchy fog between 9am and 1pm. Temperature falling to around 41 by 1pm. West wind 8 to 14 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
