CORNELIUS, NC — Recent health inspections at Charlotte-metro restaurants found a variety of violations, from uncovered food sitting on the floor to dirty kitchens in need of cleaning. One area restaurant left uncovered food and unwashed kitchen items sitting out overnight.

Pho An Hoa, 4832 Central Avenue, Charlotte — 90/ A

At Pho An Hoa, seven violations were found during a Jan. 16 inspection and included raw meat stored improperly, pork cracklings and peanuts left out overnight uncovered, a slicer and utensils left out overnight without washing, employee medication stored above clean plates, and an uncovered colander of roasted onions sitting on the floor.
During a Jan. 17 inspection at Dunkin Donuts/ Baskin Robbins on Lancaster Highway, an inspector noted 11 violations, deducting the most points for an employee failing to wash their hands after handling money and before donning gloves. According to the inspection report, there was no soap available at a handwashing sink, pink build-up forming in the ice machine areas of the kitchen and equipment that were soiled and in need of cleaning and dirty floors with “significant build up of black residue and food debris” throughout the facility.
