Lake Norman Chamber Of Commerce To Host North Mecklenburg Candidate Forum

The event will also be on Facebook Live Oct. 15.

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce will host a virtual candidate forum on Thursday, October 15th 7-9 pm. The two-hour forum will be aired on Face Book Live (WSIC 105.9 FM and Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce Face Book pages) as well as recorded and pushed out by the Chamber and WSIC’s social media. It will feature the North Carolina Senate District #41 race between incumbent Natasha Marcus – Democrat and Christopher Cole – Constitution Party. Also featured is the North Carolina House Race District #98 between incumbent Christy Clark – Democrat and John R. Bradford III – Republican. Bradford formally served in the District #98 seat January 14, 2015 – January 1, 2019.

In addition to the two North Carolina State House races, the Mecklenburg County District #1 seat will see incumbent Elaine Powell (D) face off against Jim Puckett (R ) who formally held that seat.

The forum will be moderated by Jim Morrill, a political reporter for The Charlotte Observer. Morrill has been with The Charlotte Observer since 1981. He is also a contributor to Off the Record, a North Carolina public affairs program on PBS station WTVI in Charlotte, N.C.

Jeff Tarte, Public Policy Chair for the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, said, "The Chamber is pleased to provide a forum for our members and the voters of our communities to educate themselves on the candidates for office.
