Lake Norman Weather: Chilly Fall Temps Finally On The Way

CORNELIUS, NC — Sweater weather is almost here. Temperatures around Lake Norman and the greater Charlotte metro will dip below 60 degrees this week as the first day of autumn approaches, forecasters say.

Early risers should pull out their jackets Thursday and Friday as the mercury will fall into the upper 50s by sunrise on those days, according to the National Weather Service.

Those cool temperatures are expected to follow a warm start to the week. Monday will see a high near 91 degrees, the weather service says. The rest of the week should see high temperatures in the high-80s to mid-70s, the weather service's forecast shows.

Temperatures are expected to stay in the 80s over the weekend, forecasters say.

The skies should be clear for much of this week despite a small chance of showers starting Tuesday evening, the weather service says.
