Local Elections Slated Nov. 5 In Cornelius: Who’s On The Ballot

CORNELIUS, NC — Municipal elections are right around the corner in Mecklenburg County, which means you might have an opportunity to cast a vote for mayor, town commissioners and board of education, depending upon your voting district.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, however, early voting begins Wednesday, Oct. 16. Don’t know where your polling site is or who is on the ballot? Don’t worry, Patch has you covered.

In Mecklenburg County, voters will cast votes for open mayor and councilman or commissioner seats in Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, Charlotte, Matthews, Pineville and Mint Hill. Seats are also open for the Board of Education, according to the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections.

Key Dates

• Wednesday, Oct. 16 — Early voting begins
• Friday, Nov. 1 — One-stop voting ends
• Tuesday, Nov. 5 — Election Day

• Photo ID is not required for the 2019 Municipal Elections
• Voter registration and same-day voting are allowed during one-stop/early voting. The voter must present proof of current residence, which can include a N.C. driver’s license, a N.C. Identification card, or a utility bill, bank statement or paycheck stub.
