CORNELIUS, NC — Recent kitchen inspections at a Charlotte-area restaurant found 10 health violations, which dropped its health score to a "B," according to Mecklenburg County public health officials. Restaurants in Cornelius and Davidson were inspected and all retained their "A" health grades.

County health officials recently inspected 88 restaurants in the Charlotte-metro area. Of those restaurants, Morazan Restaurant, 201 Archdale Drive received “B” health grades.
An inspection report for Sakura Sushi Hibachi & Grill in Cornelius noted eight violations, including a repeat violation of flies in the kitchen, raw chicken and beef stored above ready-to-eat foods and unlabled containers of sugar and salt at the grill line.

The health grade of one Charlotte restaurant was dropped to a "B" after inspection, according to county reports. At Morazan, an inspection documented 10 violations, including employee drinks sitting in food prep areas, employees coming in through the back door and begin food preparation without washing their hands and several food items, including ceviche, kept at improper temperatures.
