Weekend Weather: Sunny, Clear Skies Ahead For Cornelius
Rain will be headed our way next week, but this weekend will be filled with sunshine and mild temperatures.

CORNLEIUS, NC -- This weekend, all eyes are on the unfolding weather disaster of Hurricane Harvey pummeling Texas’ Gulf coast. Here at home in the Lake Norman region, however, the wind down of summer will see mild temperatures and clear skies throughout the weekend.
Hurricane Harvey turned into a Category 3 storm Friday afternoon as it churned less than 100 miles off the coast near Corpus Christi, Texas. The storm is clocking winds up to 115 miles per hour and is expected to bring as much as 35 inches of rain to the region.

In the Cornelius area, conditions will remain dry, with partly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s.
