4 Injured In Small Plane Crash Near Fayetteville

The flight was reportedly part of an event designed to teach kids about career opportunities in aviation.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A small plane crashed at the Gray's Creek Airport south of Fort Bragg Monday afternoon, injuring all four passengers.

The plane, a Cessna fixed wing single-engine aircraft, crashed shortly after takeoff, running off the runway and landing nose-down in a field beside the runway, WRAL.com reported. The extent of the injuries and the identities of the crash victims were not immediately released.

The crash occurred Monday afternoon at the small airstrip in the 7100 block of Butler Nursery Road.
