Thousands turned our for Fayetteville's 35th annual International Festival on Saturday, September 28, 2013.
Soldiers in uniform from Fort Bragg carried their cultural heritage sign leading their country's dancers and participants in their colorful regalia.
The hour-long parade down Hay Street had spectators dancing on the sidewalks and waving and snapping photos.
"We come every year and enjoy meeting local residents from other countries," said Anna Orsak. "And we especially enjoy sampling their food and drinks!"
The military is a melting pot and soldiers often marry spouses from other countries. "This makes me feel special to share my heritage, so far away from home," said Lenya Emmett of Thailand.
The festival runs through Sunday. Bring cash.
