Residents are being advised to avoid swimming in waters that are not authorized as recreational areas.

Recent rains have caused rivers and creek beds to rise. As a result, underwater visibility is near zero and currents are moving swiftly. It’s believed those conditions contributed to the deaths of two local high school students.
Also, never swim alone. Make sure you have a swim buddy when you are in the water.
