Copper Wire Thief Charged with Breaking and Entering, Larceny

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives have charged a Fayetteville man with stealing copper pipe, copper wire and a gas pack air conditioning unit from a residence.

Corey Lavone Spell, 44, of 5768 Mack Simmons Road was arrested Monday afternoon.  An investigation determined that on June 19, 2013 Spell and an accomplice entered a home located on the 3300 block of Cedar Creek Road. They allegedly took several copper items valued at $3,400.

A witness observed Spell and his accomplices removing the items from the home and reported it to law enforcement.

Meanwhile, Spell is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, as well as possession of stolen goods. His bond has been set at $20,000.
