Evacuations Ordered In Fayetteville, Cumberland County, Wade: PD

The evacuations are for residents who live within a mile of the banks of Cape Fear River and the Little River within Cumberland County.

A mandatory evacuation order is in place for Cumberland County, the city of Fayetteville and the town of Wade, according to Fayetteville Police.

The evacuation order is for anyone residing within one mile of the banks of Cape Fear River and the Little River within Cumberland county.

"There is the potential for life-threatening flooding and those who reside in the area face imminent danger from the flood waters that will soon arrive," police said.

Residents are asked to leave immediately and "all persons within the evacuation areas shall be evacuated by 3:00 p.m. September 16,2018."
