
At Monday night's City Council meeting City Manager Ted Voorhees' latest budget proposal was voted on 9-1.
Although there will be no tax increase and the police department's grant application is now withdrawn, city employees will receive a 2% pay raise.
The spending plan was up in the air and a tax increase of any sort was a hot-button issue in Fayetteville over the past months.

- New bus routes to Fort Bragg and from the Strickland Bridge Road
- Rezoning of land on Lake Valley Drive, across from the Embassy Suites, for the proposed development of Carmike Cinemas
- Law mandating that owners pick up waste after their dogs
