Fayetteville Foregoes 15 Additional Police Officers Over $.01 Tax Hike

At Monday night's City Council meeting City Manager Ted Voorhees' latest budget proposal was voted on 9-1.

Although there will be no tax increase and the police department's grant application is now withdrawn, city employees will receive a 2% pay raise.

The spending plan was up in the air and a tax increase of any sort was a hot-button issue in Fayetteville over the past months.
