Fayetteville Mother Charged with Child Abuse Injuries from Game Controller
The 8-year-old son has had previous abuse related injuries according to reports.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives have charged a Fayetteville mother with injuring her young son on two separate occasions.
Teresa Marie Fowler, 33, of 1411 Jim Johnson Road was charged in 2009 with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury, after she hit her 4-year old child with a vacuum cleaner attachment. The child was left with a laceration on the top of his head, requiring staples.

The most recent charge stems from an incident in March 2013. Fowler is charged with misdemeanor child abuse, after she allegedly struck her child in the face with a video game controller according to Public Information Officer, Debbie Tanna. He suffered a small laceration and a black eye. He was eight years old at the time of the crime.
Fowler was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under $2,000 unsecured bond. She will make a first court appearance on Monday, June 10, 2013 in the Detention Center courtroom.
