Fort Bragg Soldier and Girlfriend Charged with Child Abuse

The Spring Lake Police Department reported that a local couple were cited with neglect and child abuse charges after failing to seek care for their 5-week-old infant.

Steve Ray Bravo, a soldier assigned to 4th Brigade Combat Team's 782nd Brigade Support Battalion was charged with child abuse on April 1 according Thursday's Fayetteville Observer report. When the infant had trouble breathing on March 28 around 3a.m., Bravo took him to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The infant's mother, Krystal Lynn Cruz was charged with neglect child abuse-serious bodily injury and was taken into custody on Tuesday with bail set at $30,000 according to Spring Lake police.
