Craig Morgan's "Toast to the Troops", a free concert at the Fort Bragg Fairgrounds, on Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. The concert is open to the public and no ticket is required.

Belk Cross CreeK Mall Kidfest: they are looking for children ages 5-10 to participate in the fashion show on August 10, 2013 1:00pm-3:00pm. There will be a fashion show,activities,light refreshments for the models, a model search for one child to win an opportunity to model for Belk. Cape Fear Botanical Garden - Nature Tales
On Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 9:30a.m. this free preschool story and craft time, presented in partnership with Cumberland County Public Library, is held monthly on the first Saturday and Tuesday of the month for ages 2 to 6 and 10:30 - 11:30 is geared toward ages 5 and 6 year olds. Registration is required for Nature Tales.
AC Moore Free Summer Crafts for Kids
On Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 1p.m. to 3p.m. A. C. Moore Arts & Crafts will be holding its annual FREE summer fun craft program for ages 4-12 years, just show up and leave with some great projects.
Weird Pets at the Headquarters Library, Downtown
On Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 2p.m. to 2:45p.m. meet some friendly corn snakes, Casper and Georgette and Scrappy, a pet rat. Learn about all the weird pets at the Fascinate U Museum. Make your own "Chia" pet to take home. Registration is required by visiting the children's department or by calling 483-7727 ext. 1351. Grades K-5.
